Which part-time job suits you?
No hospitality experience? No problem. For roles such as runner, buffet assistant or cloakroom you learn on the job, with a short induction shift first. Already have experience waiting tables, behind the bar or in the kitchen? Then we put you on shifts (and rates) to match. Hotel housekeeping and front office shifts are also an option.
Many of our people are students (UvA, VU, HvA) and young professionals who want to earn flexibly alongside their studies or job. On average they work one to three shifts a week, but in a quiet period a month off is fine too. Your availability comes first.
How quickly you're on the floor
Signing up takes five minutes. Then there's a short (video) intake, we set up your profile and you can often work your first shift the same week. You can start with us from age 17. You see available shifts in the app, sign up for what suits you, and every shift you work builds EXTRAATje points and a stronger profile, which gives you priority on the most popular shifts.

Frequently asked questions
How much do I earn with a part-time job through EXTRA?
Your hourly wage depends on your age, experience and role, and always follows the collective labour agreement (cao). Evening and weekend shifts often add supplements on top. You'll get a clear picture at your intake.
Can I work whenever I want?
Yes, you sign up for the shifts that suit you. No minimum hours, no required availability. During exam weeks you simply take a break.
From what age can I start?
At EXTRA you can start from age 17. For some shifts (such as bar shifts serving alcohol) the law sets a minimum age of 18.
How exactly does daily pay work?
If you choose daily pay, your wages are in your account the morning after your shift. Everything runs automatically and transparently through the app. Read more on our daily pay page.
Do I need hospitality experience?
No. For many roles you're trained on the job. Experience is a plus and translates into better shifts and a higher rate, but you can start without it.
